Samaritans Veterans App to close in 2027

Samaritans has informed users that the Samaritans Veterans App will close in January 2027.
Existing users will be able to access their account through a web browser until December 2026, giving time to copy or save any information they want to keep.
The closure does not affect Samaritans’ 24/7 listening support. Veterans, serving personnel, families and anyone else who needs to talk can still call Samaritans free, day or night, on 116 123.
The app was developed as a digital tool to provide emotional support after an Armed Forces career, including space to reflect, manage emotional responses, identify challenges, connect with wider veteran support, and find additional support options.
Its closure comes as veteran support routes continue to evolve. VALOUR is now developing as the UK-wide veteran support system, helping veterans and their families find trusted local support and connect with the right services more clearly.
For veterans and families, the practical message is simple. Specialist tools may change over time, but immediate listening support remains available through Samaritans, while wider veteran support pathways continue to develop through VALOUR.
In an emergency, call 999.
