Fighting With Pride is asking organisations and veteran networks to help share an important deadline for veterans affected by the historic Armed Forces “Gay Ban”.
The LGBT Financial Recognition Scheme and non-financial restorative measures are open to eligible veterans who served in HM Armed Forces between 27 July 1967 and 11 January 2000 and were affected by the ban on LGBT personnel serving in the Armed Forces.
Applications close at 23:59 on 12 December 2026.
The scheme follows the LGBT Veterans Independent Review, which examined the experiences of veterans affected by the policy and its impact on their lives.
Fighting With Pride is encouraging people to help reach veterans who may not yet know they can apply, or who may need support with the process.
Anyone who thinks they may be affected can find information through Fighting With Pride, including support with applications and restorative measures.
More information is available from Fighting With Pride and GOV.UK.
